| Graduate Research Assistantships in Environmental Quality Systems |
| The College of Engineering & Computer Science at Syracuse University announces the establishment of graduate research assistantships in the interdisciplinary field of Environmental Quality Systems (EQS). Syracuse University has developed a major, institution-wide focus in EQS. New York State recognized the importance and quality of this initiative with a recent $16 million award to establish the NYSTAR Center for Environmental Quality Systems (EQS Center) at Syracuse. The EQS Center is currently focused on three interrelated areas: 1) effect of indoor environmental quality on human health and performance, 2) characterization and control of air quality, and 3) interaction of urban and built environments. EQS faculty members and graduate assistants also interact closely with major indoor environmental companies and environmental consulting firms in Central New York. EQS graduate students, at both the Master's and Doctoral level, are sought in the fields of mechanical, chemical, and environmental engineering. The graduate research assistantships carry an attractive stipend of $20,000 per year and a full tuition scholarship. For more information and application materials visit http://eqs.syr.edu and www.ecs.syr.edu/prospective_main.html. The College of Engineering & Computer Science has no application deadlines, however, applicants interested in the EQS graduate research assistantships are encouraged to apply by April 26, 2002. Applicants: on the application Cover Sheet, please use the Mechanical Engineering "Program Code" per instructions.
